Well, it’s been a hot minute.

Apologies for the absence, I was studying and parenting and all that jazz.

So, just a quick update, if you’re here: new book incoming, in three, two, one … See you soon!

Barricade is out now!

So, despite a 2 week delay due to illness, Barricade is now on Amazon

Only ebook and KU at the moment, as I’m waiting on full art for the paperback.
This release was shoved forward as fast as possible mostly because some douche decided to give it a rating on goodreads when it hadn’t even been released.Maybe they were angry I skipped the release date? Oh well!

I have a bunch of swag for Barricade so will put up a little giveaway over the weekend, so make sure you come back to check! You know…if you want swag? Who doesn’t want free swag?

Rhino Ash!

I cannot begin to explain how excited I am about this book. I love these guys so much, it’s ridiculous.

So, without further ado, Rhino Ash is coming your way October 27th!

Ashley Jameson always tries to do the right thing, but that’s hard when your nephew keeps eating crayons, your niece is dressed as a pudding and your obnoxious older brothers crash the church’s Sunday brunch with the guy you’ve been crushing on for five years. Going to work to fight fires is a welcome relief from family obligations, until the Riot Squad arrives to investigate and Ashley once again finds himself dealing with his siblings. Oh … and Finn Hale.

But Finn’s dark past continues to haunt him. As work gets increasingly busy with a string of arson attacks on illegal immigrants, Finn steps in to be the shoulder Ashley needs to lean on, but Ashley struggles to do the same for the man he loves. Juggling family and work can be difficult, but Ashley soon discovers that the real challenge is when it’s not a struggle at all … because you’ll do anything for the ones you love.

Not the cover reveal you were expecting

I’m just going to start by saying Rhino Ash is still coming out this month – hopefully! It’s ready, it’s just waiting on it’s cover. I have a very small mailing list that I hope to grow and so I trawled through my writing folders and found a novel I wrote over a decade ago. Obviously it was in need of a lot of love and attention; it needs an edit and in a lot of places a rewrite so I’m working on that at the moment.

It will soon be given as a freebie for those who join the Blacklist. So as a small teaser, below, under the ‘read more’ tag is the cover for Whispers of Autumn! I’ll send it out to the current list as soon as it’s ready to see the light of day again, it really does need a lot of work.

It’s a cute, silly little hurt/comfort story about accepting who you are. Cover by the brilliant Natasha Snow.

Rhino Ash is Coming Soon

So, Rhino Ash is coming together; it’s in the middle stages of editing and I should have a cover in a week or two. Woo! It’s been pretty fun pulling it off the shelf since I wrote it in November last year, it’s almost like getting to read it anew. I really love these characters, more than I Taylor and Sietta in a lot of ways. It’s hard though, because it’s a different book with a different feel and there’s always that chance people just won’t like it but I figure Fishy Riot was so out there that it would be hard for people to hate anything more than that 😛

At the moment, Rhino Ash should come out at the end of October.

And somehow it’s September

So, it’s somehow September! School is crazy busy right now, and I’ve just started studying for my PhD, so working and studying full time once again, which is always a bit full on but fun! I have found a little time on the side to continue working on Barricade while Rhino Ash is out for it’s first edit. When it comes back there are a few pieces missing that need to be added before the next edit while Barricade is out for editing, and so it goes… With any luck Rhino Ash should be ready for release in a month or two, and Barricade is set for a Dec/Jan release so YAY.

With other stories in the works I keep briefly picking things up and putting them down again, mostly because work is crazy for the next few weeks but after that I will buckle down and really start working on either North or Human, and once that’s done I’ll get back to work on Blue Ivories. So there is a very rough schedule to things but not a lot of anything concrete right now. There is a massive pile of books needing edits, a few needing re-writes, a literature review that won’t write itself, a pile of readings much higher than my ‘want to read’ list and a few shows to put on.

I’ll update again when I have more exciting news.

P.S thanks for finding my blog, and for those who jumped in on the giveaway! Jen and Marg, your books went out in the post last week, but coming from Darwin who knows when they’ll actually arrive!

It’s school holidays here, and I just got back from a short jaunt to Ho hi Minh city and am feeling suitably refreshed. So I have one more week of holidays before I return to work for another semester, and I’ll be trying to work on Rhino Ash to get it to my editor. Which leads to some fun news! My Dad and I both released books around the same time this year, amd since Dreamspinner aren’t keen on sequels and we each have a pile of books waiting to publish we decided to try to start our own small press.

Netherwood Press is soon to be up and running, first with a few of my father’s books including Sugarcane Lane, currently available on Amazon.

So it looks like my first book from Netherwood will be Rhino Ash, the sequel to Fishy Riot. Cool news, right? I have no set release date yet, as I’m still final drafting and then it has to go to an editor, and then I need to arrange for a cover but hey at least it’s progressing!

As I am about to hit the 100th rating on goodreads, I figured I’d have a little giveaway. Not many people (if any) read this blog, so…the first person to comment on this post will receive a free signed copy of Fishy Riot… Let’s see how long this takes! Ha!

Working on…stuff

So, another few weeks and FR has officially been out for a month! Time flies! It has had some more lovely reviews and some really hilarious bad ones. I’m just glad some people enjoy it.

I’ve finally pulled Rhino Ash out of the depths of the MS folder and have started rummaging through to add the missing bits and pieces it needs before it will go off to the editor. Barricade has also been pulled back out for it’s rework, which is a much larger but somehow more enjoyable job. And I’m working on a new idea currently titled ‘Human’ that I’m thoroughly enjoying toying with. Blue Ivories is also still sitting there, stagnant, as is North, but I’m sure I’ll come back to those when the reworking of the others is finished.

So, I am working on stuff, just not anything specifically and nothing with a real deadline in mind. I would like to think I can polish RA up by July-ish, but who knows. We shall see!
